Insurance not paying ''basic'' medical bills

We keep recieving medical bills from our family doctor. The dr. we go to for check ups and BASIC medical care, should be a $20 co-pay, and that's it. We have repeatedly called both the doctors billing dept. and our insurance. The billing dept. says they have trouble with our insurance all the time (they only have a handful of patients who use this particular ins.) & to disregard the bills. The insurance co. says ''They are sorry'' and they will ''take care of it'', but the bills keep coming & it's been almost a YEAR! My concern is that this will end up going to collections and go against my credit score. What should I do to get this matter resolved? What if it DOES go to collections?

It could be bad faith insurance practices...and if the amount is enough, a lawyer may take on a contingency..our firm would discuss it if you wish..
