Most attorneys will want you to at least pay their dry cleaning bill as a condition of dropping criminal charges. Remember that spitting is a voluntary act and thus culpable; or in the words of the late George Carlin, "Spitting on the sidewalk is a $10 fine, but vomiting is free!"
