I have a friend that works for a law firm that represented a client that was prosecuted and is now in jail. The friend is receiving personal letters from the client w/out the firm knowing it. Is this legal? She is wanting to use the letters with his consent to put in a local paper, stating why he did what he did. Is there any law that would prohibit this activity?

Re: lisa

It is possible that she could be violating attorney client privilege. At the very least, she is violating the trust of her employers by going behind their back to do this.
