Re: Online copyrights infringements
I don't know if I'll represent you, or anybody else, without first consulting with you, which is free; and if we agree on the terms, entering into a written retainer agreement.
If you registered your work with the Copyright Office, you included a proper copyright notice, and you are able to find the infringer and serve him or her with a lawsuit, and they are subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal courts, yes, you can obtain a judgment ordering them to pay your damages and attorney fees, and an injunction ordering them to stop infringing. Then you or your attorney or investigator would have to locate money or assets belonging to the infringer in order to collect on your judgment.
Even if you did not register your work, there are options available to you.
If the infringer is posting the work online, there is an expedited procedure to make the infringer's ISP take down the material.
