power of attorney
My son owns a business and has asked me to talk to an individual he doesn't have time to talk to using his name and then to fill him in later as to the contents of the conversation. The content of the conversation is not of any importance but strictly answering questions relating to the business operations. In other words the individual will not know that he is talking to me (the dad) but will instead believe that he is talking to my son. Is this illegal or is it allowed.

You will be misrepresenting who you are, which doesn't seem to be a good way to begin the contact. It seems advisable to simply say you are your son's agent on it, but what you describe does not raise any red flags.
