I am currently enrolled in a PH.D program. I have had no guidance supporting my efforts to complete my dissertation. One of my education research classes gave everyone 'A's' because he did not care and left the school leaving his students without knowledge of SPSS, another professor did not teach us how to write chapters in our dissertations and she was fired one term later and lastly, the class that I just finished did not supply the students with the necessary foundation for writing our dissertation.
The college of education changed dissertation methods, but the business dept. (who taught the dissertation course) mandated that I use the 'old' template enforced by business. I am paying over $1500 per course and I feel as if I am going in circles w/o a direction not being prepared for my degree.
Do I have legal recourse on this college? I am at a standstill w/ my degree due to misguided representation at this private college.

You (and any others affected) need to go and speak with the dean. You probably have no real claim that could be made, or the amount involved is such that it may not be worth the time. I would pursue an administrative solution first. The legal solution is not likely to be very satisfying.
