Sublet Nightmare
I have been out of my apartment in Santa Monica for about 6 months now but have continued to pay rent b/c the one roomate is a friend. I cannot afford to pay anymore and my roomates agreed to a subletter but then went back on their decision. I spoke with the landlord via email and he said he would sublet but would not handle showing the apartment to anyone. I don't trust my roomates to get this done in a timely matter and/or respect the perosn moving in. Also my one roomate threatened me with small claims court before a decision was even made.

Your facts are lacking.
Why did you continue to pay rent? What is a subletter? Why won't landlord show the apartment? Why were you threatened with small claims?
