workplace dispute

I have been suspended for 3 days

until my boss gets back from

vacation. I have been waiting in

agony until my meeting at 2:30pm

today to decide my fate. I work in a

restaurant and I got into a dispute

with another employee, she started

it, and it is claimed that I cursed her

and a guest heard it, which is

completely false. They have already

taken me off the schedule and

haven't even heard my side of the

story. She hasn't been punished at

all... I am facing demotion or

termination... and I have been off of

work all weekend. Nothing has

happened to her. Is this

discrimination?

Re: workplace dispute

No. Nothing that you state leads me to believe there is any type of discimination that can be the subject of a claim. Unless you have an employment contract that gives you certain rights or provides a process for termination, in Florida, an employee is "at will". That means they can fire you for any reason except for one specifically prohibited by federal law (race, religion, age, etcetera).
