My job has recently closed due to the coronavirus outbreak. I live and work in St. Louis county, MO. My restaurant is closed until at least April and I have filed for unemployment. After filing, I discovered that I will be being paid an emergency pay every week equal to fifty percent of my average hourly pay over the last 13 weeks times my average hours worked over the last 13 weeks. Will I still be eligible for unemployment benefits since I am literally receiving half of the money I would be making if I was able to work?
Yes you can still get benefits but you will have to claim the amount you are getting paid and that will be used to offset a portion of what you would otherwise receive.
