changing a childs surname

I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter that knows my husband to be as her ''daddy''. We are going to be married in December and we want her to have his last name. My ex husband would likely object simply out of spite. He has not seen or attempted to contact her in 16 months. I have read about an informal name change although I would prefer it to be legal and for my fiancee to adopt her. Is there any way to give her ''daddy's'' last name without involving my ex?

Sexual Harassment

I want to file a sexual harassment complaint against the owner/president of my company but I am in the middle of getting my permanent residencey here in the US. The company filed an employment based petition for me. Because of my current immigration status I feel trapped. Leaving the company would mean losing my permanent residency petition.

i have left my boyfriend of 5 years. we own a home together, and we have 2 toddlers that we share custody of. i want to force him to sell the house, so i can get on with my life. he refuses, do i have any legal standing? i am afraid he will ruin my credit and ruin the condition of the house. can i force a sale?

Identity Theft

My sister has been a recent victim of someone stealing her identity. The suspects have opened various accounts from Discover Card to Radio Shack.

She is tracing all the transactions down and has to prove she was not the one who opened the accounts.

With all the stuff the suspects are putting her through, can she sue them for time lost, amount of money it has cost her to fix her credit, and for the mental anguish it is causing her?
