selling of joint property

i have left my boyfriend of 5 years. we own a home together, and we have 2 toddlers that we share custody of. i want to force him to sell the house, so i can get on with my life. he refuses, do i have any legal standing? i am afraid he will ruin my credit and ruin the condition of the house. can i force a sale?

Both of these responses are accurate. Get an attorney to help you; you can't deal with this on your own and do well.
