does a doctor have to tell you about all the side affects of a drug and what not to take with them?

They should. Most doctors will ask their patients fill out a form that asks what medications they were already taking. If you disclosed your medications and the doctor still gave you a prescription for something he/she should have known would cause an adverse reaction, and something serious happened as a result, there may be a case for medical negligence. Feel free to call me if you would like to discuss in more detail. You have two years from the date you knew, or should have known, that there was medical negligence to file suit.
