Every boss or manager in the country right now is trying to do what is right or at least, the best legal steps to take. All are trying to fin their way. This happened last time in 1918. 102 years ago. The government wants as few workers at work at possible to avoid spreading. Yet they want furniture etc. cleaned and power washed and wiped down. He is getting paid to work at the direction of his supervision. They are allowed to set his schedule and change it at will. Everybody is scrambling. I see no indication he is going to get fired unless he complains about having his schedule changed. The employer can change a schedule whenever they want. Just do what he is told to do when he is told to do it and if it changes, then so be it. If he refuses to do something, that is insubordination and he can be fired and denied unemployment compensation. Just do what he is told.
