I was getting paid by company check, then started being paid in cash. I asked about it and was threatened with physical harm and when i reported the threats my hours were cut and haven't been paid for my last 5 weeks of work. Each time, I'd call I'd be given excuses and then i started receiving threats that they'd murder me. Later i was contacted by the police, my previous employer made allegations that i was threatening them, amongst other things. The police completed their investigation and none of the allegations had any credit. So not only did they not pay me, they continued threatening me, slandering my name for potential employment, filled false reports to the police... i deserve compensation
Hi, the Fair Labor Standards Act requires you to be paid at least the minimum wage for all hours worked. If you worked any overtime, you would also be entitled to that as well. I would reach out to an employment law attorney in your state to discuss options.
Georgia child supporgt
Receiving child support for 2 children. I do not work-homeschool children. Oldest is 14 wants to live with father. Is the child support considered even and 0 amount will be paid, due to each of us having 1 child,or do I continue to get 1/2 of child support for child remaining with me and will continue to be homeschooled?
Drug possession
On July 11th, my son was pulled over for speeding and was found in possession of pot and a glass pipe. He is 19 years old and never had anything more serious than a speeding ticket. Is this something that will stay on his record forever or can that be avoided?
Charged for Larceny - Referred to JA
So I was stressed, spacey and cranky. I was in the campus store, and I wanted to buy a mug and 2 highliters. Since I didn't have class for another hour, I sat down in this little open cafe area and worked on my homework, putting the mug and highliters in front of me so I could pay for it on my way out. I lost track of time, and rushed to put all my stuff into my bag, including the mug and highliters(i was using one of them since i was going to pay for it on my way out). Being spacey and hurried, I left the store quickly to make my next class. Before I could leave, a security guard approached me and called campus police on me. Since I am a student, they didn't make a criminal arrest. Instead, they referred me to the Judicial Administrator.
I expect to leave without a scratch--although it looks sketchy, I know that I did not intend to do anything wrong. But, since I know things don't always go as they should, if they decide that I am guilty, what kind of penalties I'll be facing? Will my penalties be mitigated because I'm talking to the JA and I'm a student? This is the first time this has happened, and I supposed ''stole'' $15 of stuff. I should mention, I went in and purchased the mug and highliters after talking to the police.
