I settled the case on which I am trying to collect on a judgment. I filed the Writ of Execution, but it was rejected by a court clerk, as the Writ has to be filed by the attorney of record. Is there a way to dismiss my attorney, besides the Substitution of Attorney? If he is notified, he'll receive the money instead of me. However, I have paid him ahead of time. May be I can file the paper with the court stating that i dismiss him?

The only way to remove an attorney of record is a Substitution of Attorney, or a noticed motion to remove the attorney. Either way he gets notice.
