I have been living in a motel for almost 28 days with my children. Our local DHCD has been closed since Monday March 16. The motel manager says we have to be out 11am Saturday March 28 because that will be our 28th day here. I have the money to stay another week but they won't let us.
There is also a presumptive case of Coronavirus at our location. So we have possibly already been exposed to it.
I am so sorry to hear of your plight. Please call the main DCF phone line at (617) 748-2000 and seek help from this office. You can also call the hotline for DCF and tell them your situation. I would also reach out to Governor Baker’s office at the statehouse at (617) 727-7030. Wishing you and your children all the best.
Good luck!
Dear Hotel Occupant,
I guess I'm confused as to what you are actually looking for, whether its to stay or leave the hotel. If you want to stay, I don't think there's a problem with you doing so, especially since you want to pay. If the hotel manager has an issue with it, you should tell him to take it up with DHCD.
And while the DHCD Office may be closed, Im sure they have someone checking messages or answering the phones. And if not, I would be calling each and every telephone number for DHCD or Chicopee Housing Authority until you got someone on the phone, period.
Now if you want to leave due to coronavirus issue, i wouyld run somewhere else.
