my children are two months old and 14 months old. their father is trying to get visitation but i was told that it the law that no visitation can be done till the child is 6 months old and cant stay over night till they are 18 months. is that correct?

No. Custody and parenting time arrangements are determined according to the best interests of the child. While some counties or judges have guidelines or approaches that offer more objective direction as to parenting time and the age of the child, there is no hard and fast rule in Kansas that dictates or limits parenting time based on the child's age. Rather, such decisions are made on a case by case basis by applying the overarching standard of the child's best interests.
