My mother is in the early stages of Alzheimers but refuses to consider assisted living or other care facility. What are the rights of the children of these patients as far as having them placed in a care facility?

You can apply for guardianship over your mother. If you are given Plenary Guardianship, then you may designate where she will be living. If only on the property, then you are limited in what you can do with her.
