Get an attorney. Don't ever give permission to search. EVER. Don't ever answer any questions or 'tell your side of things'. Good 'ol 'Officer Friendly' isn't your buddy anymore when you get out of grade school. When an officer is asking you questions or requesting permission to search what that means is he doesn't have enough to charge or arrest you and he is hoping you will be dumb enough to provide it for him. If they have what they need to make an arrest, they aren't going to bother asking questions. When ever you are dealing with law enforcement - simply do not say anything at all. Not saying anything at all means - nothing - do not let any words what so ever come out of your mouth.
