Hello, i am in the house cleaning profession. It recently came to my attention that my employer is advertising that my coworkers and myself are supplied with "CDC approved cleaning products, mask, and disposable gloves." which we do not. We are compensate to buy on our own accord with a .39 cent per hour of work compensation per a average 30 hours a week for myself, but due to the mass panic of Coronavirus Covid-19 the supply and demand of such supplies is almost none existent in my town or via online. I am in the position to lie to my customers. We have not had any type of safety meaning nor are my employers coming to the office but are sending us into our current customers and new customers houses without knowing if we are or they are sick (no screening processes). I am in the position to lie to others to keep my job in this crumbling economy. I am greatful to still have a job but i am scared that i myself may come infected or worse give it to one of my customers or loved ones.
Report this to the Colorado Attorney General's office, and wherever they say to report fraud and false advertising. If you are an actual employee (not an independent contractor), you should also complain to the company that what they are doing is not legal. This is called a whistle-blower complaint. If you get fired for complaining of an employer's illegal activity in an effort to correct it, you may have a claim for wrongful termination against public policy.
I recommend you schedule a consultation with a competent attorney for advice and guidance. If you quit in protest, you will essentially forfeit your claims. More importantly, if you do nothing, you are helping to spread the virus, which is wrong if not illegal.
Custody Hearing Question
I reside in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I am in the middle of a divorce from my husband of 8 years. We have a 2 1/2 year old daughter together. We have a custody/support/parenting time hearing set for this Monday and I am fearing that my husband will not show up. My question is if he does not show up, will the judge still hear our case or will it be delayed. Can I get a judgement without him there?
