A year ago my ex wife and I signed a divorce decree which I got custody of our child for every other weekend and also one night a week. I want to know how possible it would be for me to get that changed so that we have 50/50 custody, my child is almost 6 yrs old and I am the father.

You would have to convince a judge that the "norm" to which you agreed is no longer in the child's best interest. No experienced family lawyer would rate this as an easy case, because you are not saying she is unfit -- just "I want more time." The battered old cynic might also question whether this is about child support rather than time -- and many judges are battered old cynics.
