I parked my car in a culdesac and went to spend the night with my girlfriend. Apparently some of the neighbors called the cops thinking i was up to no good. There had been recent events of vandalism in the are so the cops came out. They called my dad and whatnot so i know it was the cops. Needless to say they went through my car. Stuff that i had under my seats was on top of my seats, i had an unopened box of Vigamox (medicine for pink eye) that i found had been opened and gone through. So my question is is it legal for an officer to search my car when I'm nowhere around??

roomate theft

a roomate changed the locks on the apartment i was living in and removed all of my posessions from the apartment to an undisclosed location and is trying to sell them back to me. i am not on the lease agreement nor are there any contracts allowing for her to use my property as collateral for non payment of rent. do i have a right to have her charged with theft and to sue her for the non return of items?

My ex wife in sworn court documents, has told outlandish stories, and outright lies about me and my parenting skills for the past 6 years to try to persuade the judge to remove my rights to our son. A ''Takings'' Appeal

If the Federal District Court denies a stay in its final ruling, how long will it take to get one from the Circuit Court of Appeals?

It's a rent control case of a taking and the lives of 396 families living in mobile homes are affected by this.

The rent will be tripled and almost all will lose their homes.

Would this be considered an ''emergency'' to the Appeals Court and would that decrease the time it would normally take get a stay? If so, then how long would that take?

Open vs Concealed Carry

What is the rationale behind allowing concealed carry permits, but NO ONE can open carry unless going to/from hunting, etc.? Seems backwards to me.

do the police have the right to ask question to you when you are visiting someone at there apartment. An if so aren't they suppose to give you there badge number? If asked.

Can this cartoon be considered libel?

I made a cartoon of a situation I was in as an an unpaid assistant. When I was ''taken off my accountability'' I drew a cartoon and sent it to about 12 other unpaid assistats and the person targeted. I was told by the entity targeted that it could be considered libel.

I recently was ''let go'' from a golf course a month ago. It is a public county course. I am allowed to play golf but my ex boss has barred me from the restaurant area. Can she do that? She says I am a troublemaker because I went back after I was fired and tried to talk to one of the bartenders who I felt had lied and that was one of the reasons I was fired. I touched her arm to stop her at the door and she jerked away. She said ''I grabbed her''. So now I'm a troublemaker. I have been back several times to play golf but today I was not allowed to get a ''sandwich to go'' since I am banned from the restaurant area. Is this legal? Is there anything I can do to be allowed in......other than hoping time will mellow her (fat chance)!!

legal rights denied by employer

i rcvd. a ticket, i drive commercial trucks, for which i turned in an written description of the incident, along with specific instructions to, under no circumstances, pay the ticket because i wanted to appear in court and contest it. when i requested the time off to appear in court, it was denied and i was told it wasnt necessary because they had went ahead and paid the ticket. this damages my ability to go to a better company, is on my driving record and violated my rights to appear in court. what can id do to recover compensation for the damages caused and violating my rights?

dept stores security personnel

I witnessed a wall mart security male dress is civilian clothes, grab a 90 pound female carrying her baby. This man janked, grabed and pushed the female inside the store. What grants these department stores security folks apply physical force. Is this illegal? I want to research this because even dough I am not related to the person I think it is wrong. Granted if she wa stealing something she should pay for her crime, but wallmart employees have no right to use physical force, the police does.

Unfavorable review on internet site

I had a contractor who didn't do a good job. I wrote an unfavorable review on his internet review site and gave him 1 star. I did this anonymously. He is sending me emails saying he will sue for slander, etc. Isn't this the purpose of having reviews and comments?
