My mother passed away this past May and my father, my sister and I are recieving Social Security. What does my money go torwards and is it right for my father to take it?

i recently engaged a national law firm to represent me in an SSI disability claim after being refused benifits twice. this particular firm always advertises ''no fee if we don't win''

I already gotten 3 differant bills for medical information which they requested from my treating Drs.

Am I required to pay these fees in advance of my hearing??

Social Security Benefits

My soon to be ex husband is now receiving Social Security Benefits so my 2 sons are also eligible. He has asked me to say he has custody of the boys, I said NO. He states if I do not get the boys seperate bank accounts and give him the award letters once I receive them he will stop the payments. They only get 60.00 per month because he get worker compensation so SS is offset by the WC. Can my boys get worker compensation from him?

SSI-Joining an Alias to ''birth name'' to get full monthy payment

Hello, my husband passed away 3 years ago. I am receiving his SSI. For about 15 years out of our marriage (we were married about35 years) he worked under another name in which he paid into S.S. However, I am only receiving monies he paid into under his birth day (and the name on death certificate). How can the two names be joined legally so I can receive what I am owed for all the years he worked-under both names?

At the time my husband turned 65 years old, he was in prison. He has been released and if presently receiving social security benefits and part ''A'' medicare. He was denied part ''B'' until July, '08, and a 10% penalty for each year he did

not apply. This means he can't get other insurance. He's 71 and we can't afford the penalty. Did the worker at social security overlook

I am supposed to die in from now to 26 months. We have numerous Medical bills . We both are in bad health .Medication are eating us alive and Dr. bills. For me to qualify for ssi she make 1.23 hr to much. So were are having marital problem. So we are thing about Separation , What I need to know is if we separate .Will her income be counted on me. (she want have to pay any thing well she)?Can I live on the same property? I can not afford to live somewhere separate right now .

My sons father was murdered in 2002 in Clark County Nevada, his parents have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the convicted suspects.We were never married. Does my son have rights to the money? They were told that they might qualify, because they make too much money ($50,000) annually. Is this true? Do individuals only get social security funds if their family is in poverty?

23 yr old daughter denied ssi

My daughter has cvid (an immune deficency and granulomatouslymphocytic interstitial lung disease. Also colitis and many other problem because of her condition. Her condition is very complicated and the medications sometimes have positive effects and other times its really bad. She has not worked in almost a year. She can not hold a job because her health is so difficult. She can walk, drive, cook, bath herself. But many day she can't do much. Her has appealed the denial, but it is so hard for her to deal with all the paperwork. Stress is the worst thing for her. Not having finances and having poor health is just about all she can handle. what do you suggest?

SSDI being withheld due to WC settlement

My BF's WC claim was finally settled after 4+ yrs. His SSDI was being offset by the monthly WC payments and Child Support arrears.

BF got a lump sum payment from WC. SS will not raise his monthly pay to pre-WC status b/c of the lump sum!? It is as if he is having to pay that $ back to SS. Is this normal?

It doesn't help that SS says they overpaid him...they are ''allowing'' him to pay that off by withholding even more from his pay. Between CS, WC, and the ''overpayment'' payback - his checks will be apprx $75/month instead of, I think, $1050!!?

Is this standard procedure?

Social Security Death Benefits

My father in law passed away and had literally no money and no life insurance. He has been divorced from my husband's mom for 29 years. Since she was married to him for 10, she applied to receive his social security and was awarded it. Is this possible? Can the funeral costs be paid from that money?
