Hello:
Last year my lovely wife had an affair and tore me in two. She married the person she had the affair with. Our divorce ended with a dissolutionment using one lawyer. Hers. In the divorce agreement it states that she is to recieve the 2005 jeep liberty and I am required to pay the loan off with the proceeds of the sale of our home . The car is in my name and the loan. The papers say she gets the jeep free and clear and that she is responsible for any indebtness thereon. My question is do i have to continue paying for her and her husbands jeep or can I legally transfer the loan into her name. I am paying full coverage ins. on the jeep also in accordance to the loan. It is hard to make that payment. Really stings. Thankyou for your time

your site and the opportunity to ask questions is very nice to find. Your professional opinion is highly appreciated! details: a step brother (same mom) has come into our lifes learning of my fathers passing (my mom passed over a year ago). he is claiming he is entitled to his fair share of the estate, is that a true statement? my belief, since my father became the owner of my moms estate and he did not adopt the step brother, the estate is soley his, therefore my sister and I are the only ones entitled to the estate. is this true? unfortunately my dad did not leave a will or trust and the state is under 100k so i believe we do not have to go through the entire probate issue (small estate probate - 40 days after death and complete a one page form which i have)
house title
My boyfriend of 5 years and I
recently broke up. I want to get my
name off the title & leave his on (so
does he). He can't refinance because
of his credit, but my mortgage
company said I could get a letter
from the court awarding him the
house & then they would talke my
name off. I was just wondering what
that involves and how to go about
doing that. We really don't want to
sell especially considering the current
market. I'm not fighting him for
anything I just want to get my name
off and move on with my life.
When my ex-husband divorced me, I was not able to attend the hearing nor able to hire an attorney. I was recovering from a near fatal accident and was out of state. Although I received papers, I was unable to understand what they said other that it was uncontested. I answered them the best way I could.
So, after 17 years, I received nothing. 10 of those were while he served in the military and the other 7 as a civilian and putting funds into whatever pension plan his employer/s had. He had several jobs during those 7 years. He kept property that was mine that was bought with money that was from my grandfather's estate and a gift to me.
I don't understand how a judge could allow this to happen knowing NC is a community property state and I was entitled to half of all of what he had. Don't I have a way to re-open this based on fraud some way? My standard of living is bad. I am on disability because of this accident now. All those years I had to stay home raising 3 children and not work because of his job with the military and could not put into my SS funds. I am entitled to something from this man.
