Adding Middle Name

19 year old college student in PA, from CA.

No middle name right now.

I've always referenced myself with a middle name as ''Peter.''

None of my official documents (Driver's License, Birth Certif., Passport) list ''Peter,'' EXCEPT my voter registration ID.

How can I most cheaply make my middle name ''legal''?

Re: Adding Middle Name

It is most emphatically -not- illegal to call yourself whatever name you like. This is your free speech right under the First Amendment. To deal with government paperwork issues, you can file a petition in court to change your name. It involves paying a filing fee and publishing a legal notice in the back of some legal newspaper nobody reads. Then you go to name-change court and, this is the fun part, you get to see a procession of people with really funny names.
