civil unions
If Local 1262 has members in N.J. Shouldn't they be giving health benefits to the spouse of a Civil Union couple.(full time employee for 32yrs.) They have members in N.J., N.Y. and Canada. Their answer to me was that they are Federal Based.

This is a new area of the law, especially in NJ so you may have a tough time getting an attorney to help you out with this. I suggest finding an attorney that focuses on the civil union area and ask them for help. I'm sure GLAD or an organization like that has a list of attorneys for that sort of case.
