Debt Collection and Appearing at Trial

Hello....My question is:

There is a court trial set for Aug. 22 but I cannot attend due to a broken foot and want to have it moved. I am doing a motion to continue it per the judge advising same but if, for some reason, it does not get granted, what happens if I don't appear on Aug. 22?

Thank you very much for your time and help in the above.

Re: Debt Collection and Appearing at Trial

Get a note from your doctor, a declaration or your chart records. I cant imagine a judge not continuing it for this reason, but if the judge does not and you do not show up, the plaintiff would put on their case without you.
