Can your emploer read your e-mails?
Re: e-mails
If your employer provides you with an email address, your employer can read your emails so long as he provides notice of his intent to do so. Most companies, in the employee manual, have something to the effect of "the management reserves the right to monitor network use and detect inappropriate use of electronic mail." If such a warning has been given, it is doubtful that you have an expectation of privacy in your work email.
Your employer cannot read your personal email on your personal computer at home, again, unless he provides that computer and the email service.
