Indecisiveness....
I am a GC and contracted for a complete high end home remodel...3800 SF. Job was to take only three months, we are now on month 7 due to building department changes and homeowner indecisivness leaving me $ 30,000.00 in debt with subs and suppliers. Homeowner has paid ontime and current but now the overtime and delays have caught up to me financially. Also, Homeowner hired a lady who has been a disruption to the construction process. I hardly have had any face time with the owner. Do I have any ground to stand on to recoup the additional expenses, especially for delays created by the indecisiveness of the homeowner? Also, homeowner representative hired a draftsman whos plans were not accurate which contributed to delays. HELP!

You get to do whatever your contract says you can. Read it. You do have one don't you? You can always negotiate to try to resolve this. You'll argue your position in court, with or without a contract, if you can't settle it. If you've been properly documenting Change Orders, you'll be in good shape.
