personal data protection
During my recent trip to Sea World Park I was asked to provide my finger prints in order to purchase a year pass. My gym (24 hour Fitness) does the same to enter the facility. I'd like to know if I have to submit to these requests, questioning the security and protection of this information, who it might be shared with, and failing to see why a form of ID wouldn't suffice. Could you let me know of the legality and possible recourse? Thanks,

You don't have to submit to these procedures. Likewise, Sea World and your gym don't have to sell you the passes that you want. They are entitled to establish whatever lawful conditions they want for such sales, and if you are unwilling to go along they can refuse to sell the passes to you on that basis.
