do i need an atty to get power of atty. for my parent who is in stage one of alzeimers disease

Assuming they are still able to make decisions now, I would have a Durable Power of Attorney executed so you can avoid having to petition the Court to be her guardian in order to handle her affairs. If you are handling them now, you want a DPOA with immediate effect.
