roofing company broke my a/c
I had a re-roof done on the house. In the process, the nails punctured the cooper tubing for the a/c. The roof company says it's not their fault, everything passed inspection. They said the tubing wasn't placed to code and how could they know it was so close to the roof. They say go to the installer, the unit is 15 years old, and ask them to re-do the installation. The a/c repair people said it will cost $550 to replace the cooper tubing and get it working. Where do I go from here?

If the copper tubing really could not have been seen by the AC company, then you as the owner are responsible for unseen hazards. I don't see much chance of winning against the AC company and think you're better off getting the AC fixed and up to current code yourself.
