How can I answer a Summons & Complaint without an attorney?

That is going to be difficult. For example complaints, go to your local law library and look in the Michigan Civil Practice Forms books. They are hard-cover bound in green and will have example answers for you to look at. Generally speaking, it turns out better if you do hire an attorney.
