Vehicl damaged at Auction House

I took a vehicle in good shape to an aution company to be sold at auction. Was notified that vehicle had a sales offer, but when ''they'' (auction place) smogged it, the engine froze and it now needs a new engine. They now want me to pick up vehicle which no longer works, pay storage fees, and are threating to sell at lien sale. I believe they damaged the vehicle as I've received inconsistent details of what occured from different employees at their company. How can I get my vehicle back without having to pay those fees ?

Re: Vehicl damaged at Auction House

Your contract with the auctioneer determines your rights. I suspect it disclaims any liability on their part. If after reading it, you think there are grounds for legal action against either the auctioneer or the smog facility, then consult with local counsel. Do so quickly, as the storage charges mount quickly.
