Yesterday I was arrested on a domestic violence charge after my ex call the police on me. When the police, crime scene unit and paramedics came to her apartment, I was handcuffed for over 1 hour and later detained in a police car after interviews and investigations. Later they dropped the charges against me and decided to cite her for assaulting me.

I pleaded with the police not to proceed with citing her for assault but they said they are mandated under Utah laws to cite her. She is suppose to appear before the judge in 14 days.

How can I help to stop/withdraw the case considering that I was not the complainant but the victim?

You are the piece of evidence that has to testify so you can go to the prosecutor and let them know your side.
