I’m staying at an extended Stay America in Arlington Texas. Have been here since 11/2019. Currently laid off and unable to pay next rent. Can I be put out?
Short answer, probably yes. Hotels and motels operate under different laws than do landlords for residential properties, like apartments.
So, if you do not pay the rent, you will quickly lose the right to stay in the room.
Good luck.
Unfortunately, the Texas Property Code §92 applies only to residential rental properties and does not extend to hotels/motels. If you can't pay for your room, the establishment can put you out.
