I'm currently in the United States as an international student. Right now my dad is my sponsor but can I have my stepmother sponsor me instead? Am I able to continue to study here and just change the person sponsoring me?

If I have one felony conviction, how much time passes after the date of conviction before a second felony is not automatic prison and when does that time period begin, is it upon release or does it begin the day after probation is over?
