I paid rent for March then a couple of days later he he gave us a 30 day notice something he got offline and said we had to leave because of the coronavirus because he has family coming in from out of state. We have to leave by April 14th but wouldn't that just be a 14 day notice since we paid rent for March?
The usual practice is to give the notice along with the payment of rent for that period in time. But that is not required. In this case, the rent would be pro-rated for the the partial time, so you would pay about 1/2 of what you usually pay on April 1. While this should have been spelled out on the notice, its a courtesy but not required.
