Can a credit card company which is owed money place a lien against your car? If so, can they actually seize the car or must they wait until you sell the car? The car was paid for in cash.

The creditor needs to obtain a judgment and then get a court order to seize and sell the car to satisfy the debt. Unless the car is worth a substantial amount of money they will not bother with the car because of the cost of obtaining the court order and then selling the car and you can exempt some of the value of the car. Most likely they will first go after bank accounts and your wages and file a lien against your real estate once they obtain the judgment.
