Can two companies have the same name even though they are in different states? I live in the State of CA and I have checked my name availability with my Secretary of State and got a response that the name is available. However, someone in another state contacted me and said that she too has that name. Should I go ahead an incorporate the name. If I do go ahead will that lead to legal repercussions in the future?
