1. My employer (non-profit higher education institution) will be filling for cap-exempt H1B in April 2020.
2. My F1 visa (5 years) expired in May 2019.
3. I graduated in June 2019 and started my job on post-completion OPT EAD in September 2019.
4. I am not eligible for STEM extension for 24 months.
5. EAD valid until August 12, 2020.
6. Due to virus scare, premium processing is temporarily suspended.
7. Normal time is approx 9-12 months. I don't qualify for cap-gap due to cap-exempt H1B.
8. Can I work after EAD expiration if H1b not received?

Premium processing wasn't suspended because of COVID-19 ... it has been suspended every year for at-least 6-7 years.

My daughter's stepfather wants to adopt her. She's 14 and just moved to Idaho. I just joined the Army at Ft. Benning, GA. I pay child support on a regular basis, which come out of North Carolina. I do NOT want to give up my parental rights. The stepfather plans to take it to court. Can he adopt her without my permission?
