I am a special education non attorney advocate. My question regards legal release of records. Many districts and their attorneys add components to a release for records request or a release to communicate. What are the ACTUAL requirements that MUST appear on a form for a parent to allow a third person to communicate and request all student records? My releases are ignored stating I have missing requirements without declaring what is missing.
Poking around in the dark is never an easy thing. If you have not asked why the release was rejected you should. They may be correct or incorrect. If they refuse to disclose what they believe is missing, then post the format you used.
