I am asking this question for my brother. He workings for a local printer company that buys and sells big commercial printers. He is constantly traveling. He was recently sent to trucking school for his CDLs. He is paid salary. He works an excessive amount of hours and here lately is even working on the weekends. Can he legally ask for "overtime" pay even though he is salary. Originally, he would be home on the weekends; and at first, if he had to work the weekend, his boss would let him take a day from the week to be off. Its not that way no more. The "overtime" hours are becoming so excessive he is starting to wonder if its even legal just because he is salary. He is just wanting to know some laws regarding salary pay and overtime.

It depends if he is considered exempt or non exempt for overtime rules. If he is an exempt salaried employee, they can legally work him 24 hours a day 7 hours a week.
