I am disabled and was turned down by social security, now I am appealing their decision. My question is concerning student loan debt. I have outstanding student loans from 1991. I want to know how to get this debt wiped out. I understand that when I win my social security case, I am entitled to be paid from when I first became unable to work, which was a year ago. But, that the government can take all that money for this student loan debt! I am old and alone, destitute, and this money is all I have to live on for the rest of my life! How can I get this debt taken off my record so that they won't take it? They have this debt built up to over $100,000.00, more than I could ever hope to pay in my lifetime. I have not willing paid on it since 2001, they have garnished my pay when I was working, and taken my income tax returns. PLEASE help me!

You need to get help with your student loan debt. There is a new law on student loans that may be of some use to you. You will need to talk to a debt solution lawyer regarding the student loans.

As re your disability on the denial of SSD, you should contact a lawyer to file a new application.
