I live in Louisiana and have a question about a law that I was told was passed by our Attorney General recently. I was told that the Principle of a school can take money raised by clubs and spend as they want without the club being able to have any say as to the use. If the club was composed of parents and not suppervised by the school how can the Principle come in and take the club funds? Would this not be mis-appropriation of funds?

The Attorney General's office can merely offer an opinion on how a law should be interpreted, they do not pass laws. Publc entities often ask for clarification of a law or regulation from the Attorney General's office. The local school board controls how schools are funded, supervise the principals, etc. I would check with the school board to determine if there is some policy regarding the funds of school clubs.
