If someone put your name in their will as legal guardian for their kids, are you required by law to accept it? My husband verbally agreed to be guardian for my sister-in-law's kids, without my consent. I told him I can't be responsible for 5 kids' well-being. I am not sure if he did tell her that, because he always has difficulties to say no to his family.

A person can designate someone to be a legal guardian for their children. However, the designated person is free to refuse.
