My apartment complex has implimented a new policy whereby all residents are to pay their rent on-line. I have lived there over a year and have always paid by personal check and have never had a bad/bounced check. When confronted they said this is our new policy and that's the only way to pay. They have had a few of us that cannot access their website to pay due to block-up issues, so we are wondering... Can they do this or am I justified to pay the way I have always paid when I signed my lease? (Nothing in the lease says anything about on-line payments.)

If your current lease contains a provision that allows for you to pay

your rent by check, then you may continue to do so until that

provision of the lease has been changed (in my opinion).
