My elderly mother is temporarily living in an assisted living facility. Her adult daughter (my sister) lived with her in my mother's home and changed all of the locks. My mother owns the home and has a reverse mortgage. I need to get into my mother's home to get more clothing, eye glasses, etc. but can no longer get into her house. What should I do?

You probably should start by calling adult protective services. Hopefully they can assist you. If more is required, you may need to initiate a conservatorship that would give you control over your mother's assets, including the house, so you could then manage it legally for your mother.

If there is already a power of attorney, then you might be able to use that to get help from the police.
