Is it too late to proceed in a criminal case against the person that opened the door
There is no way to answer your question. Only prosecutors have the power/authority to file criminal charges. You can file a report with the police, but only a prosecutor has the discretion to bring charges.
Has an estate been opened? The estate has the right to bring the action.
If instead of criminal charges you meant to ask about a civil action for damages, then it all depends on the state where your daughter lived or where the accident occurred. In Iowa there is a two-year statute of limitations period. May 25, 2018 plus two years is May 24, 2020. In Iowa it appears the two year time period has lapsed, but I would suggest you immediately schedule a time with an attorney to explore a more definitive answer.
I am doing Zoom meetings if you would like to speak with my office.
Otherwise, I wish you the best.
I have been legally seperated from my husband for almost two years and we filed for divorce three months ago. I am pregnant by my live-in boyfriend and I would like to know if I can give the baby my boyfriend's last name and list him as the baby's father.
Thanks,

property not returned
my stepson is using my bedroom and dining room furniture. He asked if he could use it until I needed it back In 2006 I asked for the furniture back and he said either he was charging me six thousand dollars to return it (a price he claims would cost me for storage) or he was keeping it. I had a storage unit and could have easily taken it there but he needed furniture and so I let him use it. Now that he won't give it back what kind of recourse do I have. This furniture origanally belonged to my parents and is a family treasure. He lives in Reno where I lived then but I now live in California. My husband his father is deceased. What can I do?
non compete contract
I have recently been terminated from my job as project manager of a florida based roofing contractor. Less than 1 week from being terminated me and everyone else was asked to sign a non compete contract. Now in the letter that i didnt read before it says i cannot own, operate manage consult, control, participate in the managment or be employed by maintain or continue any interest whatsoever in any enterprise/company located within 40 mile radius for 2 yeasr unless written consent from the company. Ok, I have been roofing for 16 years i have no intention on starting my own company, I just want to go to work as a roofer/shingler again, as it is all that i have known and is my only means of income. What can i do? Can this keep me from being employed from another company in this city. I think it was wrong having me sign it then fireing me. anyway, Is this contract binding? Oh and he has held $500.00 of my last check for unknown reasons.
