I'm in a chapter 13. end of my 2nd year and have paid $30,000 apx.
I did not turn over my tax return or refunds to the trustee.
According to my lawyer, its going to be okay. I had to turn over copies of my 2014 and 2015 taxes. They said the money would be worked into the plan.
Problem is that I have to get a copy of my state IT40 from the irs. Still not a big deal.
This situation may have opened a can of worms because my lawyer called and said they needed an affidavit signed stating that my wife had no income that year because i filed as head of household. I made a huge mistake and didn't report 12,000$ of income my wife earned in 2012 and I never ammeneded or heard from the irs. Now I'm afraid that the irs is somehow infiltrating my situation and trying to bind us legally with an affidavit. So, I don't know how to go about this. I'm thinking the 3 year statue of limitations may apply but I also know that the irs often plays by
Your attorney has a confidential relationship with you. Contact him concerning your tax issues. Do not make a false affidavit, as that would be perjury.
Potential Lawsuit
I fell in July at a Verizon Phone Store and am being told that I don't have a claim. I had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital for a very bad laceration to my shin. I was left on the floor for sevreral minutes until I could get myself up and then was left sitting on a chair for at least 45 minutes with no one bothering to pay attention to me despite the fact my leg as really bleeding.
I believe I suffered a back injury due to this fall and am treating for same. I think at the very least Verizon should compensate me for the medical bills I have incurred and am still incurring.
Can a HOA charge a $100 a day fine for a bylaw violation that was corrected 5 weeks before notification?
We have attempted to hit highlights here;
- Our condo has a no-pet policy that we found out about less that 2 weeks before closing
o We had to submit an application to live in the building before we saw the by-laws and did not indicate we had a dog
- The Management Association told us we could be granted an exception due to our dogs age and medical needs (he was a 12 year old lab with Addisons disease)
- We moved in with our dog under the assumption we could possibly be granted this exception after clearly communicating to the Management Company representation he would be moving in
- The HOA board told us the concept of an exception doesnt exist and instead we would need to change the by-law altogether, which they would not do
- They asked us to sign a document saying we would remove him within 5 days or they would fine us $100 a day, we would not sign but removed the dog within 7 days
- 5 weeks later the board informed us we were being fined $1,700, $100 for every day he lived in the building
We were hoping to get your opinion on whether we are liable for the $1,700 and should pay it, if given the facts we are liable for less than $1,700, or if we should not be liable for anything
Foster child / child abuse
My husband and I took in a 5 yr. old boy through foster care. One night during jumping on bed and superman play, the child rolled off the bed and jumped up and played a bit more with my husband and then passed out and went into what appeard to be 1) a epileptic attack 2) full body stroke. We did what we could to keep the child breathing and alive until the EMT showed up and rushed him to the hospital. Dr.'s say he has bleeding in the brain and a laceration on his liver. They are saying that the injuries do not coincide with the story. They have placed my husband on investigation and will no longer allow us to see the child. The DA keeps telling my husband that your story doesnt make sense and acts like he want my husband to add on, but he wont because nothing else happened. DA said he may be looking at criminal charges and that the mother and state may also file criminal charges too. Right now, I am begging for someone to help me. I havent stopped crying for over a week when it happened. I am disabled and we have no money. We werent even being paid for keeping the child. someone please shine some lite. If he does get sentenced, they said it would be for child abuse...how much time will he have to serve?
